From the outset, Nadiem applied standards that went beyond common practice by involving all relevant institutions in the procurement process, in order to ensure transparency and accountability at every stage.
In addition, the 2024 BPKP audit–covering procurement activities in 2020 and the 2021-2022 period– showed that there was no price mark-up in the selection and procurement process for Chrome OS at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.
Two BPKP Audits: No Price Mark-Up
The results of the BPKP audits for 2020 and 2021–2022 show that there was no price mark-up in the Chrome OS procurement process at the Ministry.
Although not required, the entire Chrome OS procurement process at the Ministry involved JAMDATUN* (Attorney General’s Office), LKPP**, BPKP***, and KPPU****, at Nadiem’s request.
The aim was to ensure regulatory compliance, accuracy, accountability, and to prevent any potential conflict of interest.
* JAMDATUN: Deputy Attorney General for Civil and Administrative Affairs
** LKPP: National Public Procurement Agency (institutionally accountable to the President)
*** BPKP: Finance and Development Supervisory Agency
**** KPPU: Business Competition Supervisory Commission
To date, the legal counsel team has not received any BPKP audit report regarding the state losses cited in the indictment.
